8:00 – 8:30 a.m. – Hotel Pickup
Our day begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco, where we will give you a warm welcome and head south of the city. As we leave Cusco behind, you can enjoy the tranquility of the Andean landscapes that will accompany our journey.
9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Tipón
We arrive at Tipón, an impressive archaeological site that showcases the perfection of Inca hydraulic engineering. Here, we will learn how the ancient inhabitants of the Inca Empire built a system of canals that still control the flow of water today, connecting the highlands with the valley. During the visit, you will have time to explore and take photos of this amazing site surrounded by mountains and agricultural terraces.
10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Pikillacta
Our next destination will be Pikillacta, an archaeological site that belonged to the Wari civilization. This place, which translates as “city of fleas,” is an ancient walled city that was one of the most important centers in the region before the arrival of the Incas. Here, you will discover the adobe structures and learn about the political and social organization of the Wari.
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Andahuaylillas
To conclude our tour, we arrive at the beautiful Church of Andahuaylillas, a true treasure of colonial art. Known as “The Sistine Chapel of America,” this church houses impressive frescoes, gilded altarpieces, and a unique atmosphere that reflects the richness of the colonial period. You can also admire the famous pentalingual door, an architectural detail that reflects the mix of cultures in the region.
1:30 – 2:00 p.m. – Return to Cusco
At the end of the visit, we begin our journey back to Cusco, enjoying the scenery of the valleys and mountains as we reflect on the wonders we have just discovered.
2:30 p.m. – Arrival in Cusco
At approximately 2:30 p.m., we will return to the city of Cusco, leaving you with unforgettable memories of this journey through the South Valley.
